Happy Thanksgiving
My blog's focus started out as an exercise to help me learn to live with the deep grief I was experiencing after my daughter's unexpected death. Looking back on the blog I truly hope some of the posts have touched other people's hearts who are living with the heartbreak of losing someone they love. Many years later the focus shifted to include things that I find interesting or compelled to share but I have never lost the main focus of the blog--GRIEF. (updated Jan 2025)

Summer in October
What a spectacular day at the beach!
You would never know it is October 9.
The water was fabulous at 67 degrees.
Lot's of people and dogs in the water.
I couldn't resist catching waves
so fully clothed I made the plunge.
I wish I had my boogie board.
The waves were superb.
There was a natural wading pool for the kids
and then a wide sand bar
before the wave area.

Sign the Presidential Petition for Pups
The White House's official website has a new feature that allows citizens to create petitions to request the Obama Administration to take a specific action. We submitted a petition asking the President to crack down on unlicensed puppy mills by closing a loophole in the Animal Welfare Act regulations.
If our petition gathers enough signatures we will receive an official response. We must gather more than 5,000 signatures in 30 days to have our question reviewed and answered. Will you help us bring puppy mill cruelty to the attention of the President?
Sign the petition today through the White House website -- you will need to create an account but it only takes a minute. If you have any problems, use our handy guide. Thank you for all you do for animals.
