Almost a year ago, my husband lost his Italianhorn that I bought for him many years ago.It was not the run-of-the-mill horn. This onehas unique carvings on it and we have neverseen another design like it. The charm alsohas sentimental value. He always wore itaround his neck with other charms that hereceived as gifts from his parents, daughter,and me. He never removes his chain unlessa charm has to be repaired or cleaned.Sadly, one day he noticed the charm wasmissing from his chain. He thought maybethe jeweler lost it the last time he cleanedthe items. The jeweler denied loosing anything and explained to him how he weighs gold before and after as a precaution.So the horn was gone…that is until Monday, May 25, 2009. It was early morning and hewalked into the bathroom and there sitting on the tiles adjacent to the tub was the horn!He was so surprised and he immediately woke me up to see it for myself (after myinitial reaction, I immediately took a picture of it). I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.Where has it been all this time? A mystery we will never know the answer to (alomg witha lot of other mysteries). Who placed it there (it was just us and the pup in the house)?
It wasn’t Saint Anthony because I know we never asked him to help locate it. I knowin my heart who placed it there in plain site--thanks Laura! Dad is so happy to have the horn back. Although, we wish with all our heart and soul that we could have you back instead.
