Jim included this
poem at Laura’s memorial 30th birthday during his comforting homily
to the group.
When you look up at the starlit sky
know
that you are not alone
In your loss, you
have gained a
You may feel lonely
and hurt inside
as this moment overwhelms you
But time will bring
you closer to
understanding, and it will slowly fill
the
emptiness inside your heart
You have friends
and family to help you
through
this, but you have someone
even
greater watching over you now
Let the sunlight
dry the tears that flow
from
your eyes, and as the sun sets
into
night, know that you are not alone
Know that among the
beauty of the night
a
soul twinkles just for you
And that in the calmness
of a passing breeze
peace
floats by to ease your heart
As long as the day
turns into night
you
should never feel lonely
because
you are not alone
